CHARLOTTE, N.C. –The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team will host Wingate University at Dickson Field in the South Atlantic Conference Championship quarterfinal round. The game will take place on Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m.
After tying for fourth place in the league with Wingate University after both turned in identical 8-3 league records, the Royals took the higher seed thanks to them picking up a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs during the regular season.
Charlotte Ring and Thea Mallet both scored in the win.
Mallet leads the Royals this season with 20 points on eight goals and four assists.
Alana Jefferson has 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Goalkeeper
Rachel Quest has logged seven shutouts.
Wingate is led by Kimmi Moore who has 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Taylor Krakower has 14 points on five goals and four assists. Goalkeeper Alexis Jones has 10 shutouts this season.
Last season, it was the Bulldogs who knocked the Royals out of the semifinal round in Rock Hill, S.C., defeating Queens by a score of 1-0.

The 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 1 before moving to Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 4 and 6. The South Atlantic Conference's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA women's Soccer Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
