Charlotte, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team (10-1, 5-1 SAC) found the win over Mars Hill (7-5, 3-4 SAC) on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. The Royals swept the doubles competition to take an early 3-0 lead before concluding the match with a 7-2 score.

Zachary Williams and Ole-Jacob Meum took the first point for the team on the No. 3 doubles court seeing Carlos Suares Riesco and Blake Covington to an 8-2 score. Jules Athalis and Will Roberson found an 8-3 victory in the No. 2 doubles spot against Sam Lee and Markus Gattner. Completing the 1-2-3 in doubles, Per-Erik Soler and Andor Vas combined to take on Euquerio Guerrero and Alberto Ortiz for an 8-5 win.

Turning their sites on the singles matchups, Williams took the first point finding the win over Blake Covington. Williams gave up only one game in his two set match for court 6, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win for the Royals. Facing a third set, Roberson dug deep to overcome Gattner in the No. 3 singles spot. His 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win gave the team their fifth point to lay came on the match. In the No. 1 singles, Soler battled against the Mars Hill top, Guerrero. The two found their way into the third set with Soler taking the point with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 victory. Athalis took the last court for the Royals seeing a long match through to find mirroring set wins of 6-2, 6-2.

The team will head on the road this Thursday to Hartsville, S.C., to face the Coker College Cobras.
