Box Score BREVARD, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team took out Brevard College this afternoon by a score of 92-79 to complete the home-and-home sweep of the Tornados in South Atlantic Conference play, and improve to 11-5 in the league. Brevard falls to 9-13 on the year and 7-9 in the SAC.
The Royals (14-8) were led by
Rob Lewis who totaled 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Sean Morgan added 18 points and five rebounds, while
Marquis Rankin totaled 14 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Jedarian Jackson also scored 14 points to go along with his five rebounds and four steals.
Jared Hendryx chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
After falling behind by 12 points with 8:10 to play in the first half, Queens roared back with a 17-5 run to tie the game at 36-36 with 3:40 to play. A pair of free-throws from
Marquis Rankin would lift the Royals past the Tornados at 1:39, and they would go on to hold a 46-43 lead at the break.
The Royals never relinquished their lead in the second half posting a 53.13 percent clip in the period. They built their lead out to as much as 18, 70-52, with 12:13 to play, and never looked back as they secured their third win in a row.
Phil Wallace led Brevard with 23 points, while Darius Moose added 21 points. Miles Leathers scored 11 points.
The Royals will look to get another road win at Wingate on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Queens lost in their first meeting with the Bulldogs by a score of 65-60.
