Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The seventeenth ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (9-0, 4-0 SAC) kept their record-breaking winning streak alive as they disposed of the Carson-Newman Eagles (4-5, 0-3 SAC) 85-63 on Saturday, December 12.

Todd Withers led the team in scoring for the first time this season as he scored 16 points in the game. He also added four rebounds and three blocks. The Royals shared the wealth as they had five other players who scored at least nine points in the game, including
Daniel Camps who scored nine points, gathered five rebounds, gave out five assists, and snagged four steals.

Queens shot 46.2 percent from the field in the game including going 11-29 from three-point range. The Royals took advantage of the Eagles 20 turnovers as they turned those into 24 points. Queens also scored 16 fast break points, most of them coming on crowd-pleasing dunks.

The Royals came out on fire from three point land as they drained their first four threes to take a 12-2 lead three minutes into the game. Carson-Newman answered with a run of their own, going on a 13-4 scoring spurt to cut the Royals lead to 16-15 following a Mason Bates three pointer with 11:33 left in the half. The Eagles would take a 24-23 lead for only a small amount of time, as the Royals would get back on the prowl. Queens ended the first half on a 21-5 run that was sparked by back-to-back slams from
Jared Hendryx to take a 46-30 lead into the half.

Queens started the second half as they did the end of the first half, on a roll. The Royals started the second half on an 11-3 run, led by
Daniel Camps and
Sean Morgan, to take a 57-33 lead with a little over 16 minutes left to play. Their lead would grow to as large as 34 points as
Marquis Rankin nailed a three pointer with 7:38 remaining in the game to give the Royals an 80-46 lead. Carson-Newman made a late push as they went on a 17-5 run to end the game, but the Royals lead was too insurmountable as Queens won their ninth game in a row 85-63.

Carson-Newman was paced on offense by Charles Clark's 21 points. Sawyer Williams was second on the team in scoring with 12, followed by Christian Harris who added 11 points.

The Royals return to action very quickly as they play host to Warren Wilson tomorrow, December 13, with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
