CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team, ranked sixth in the southeast region, will travel to take on Wingate University tomorrow in the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Rock Hill, N.C. The Bulldogs, ranked second in the region, come into the game seeded second with a 14-1-2 record, while Queens is seeded third with a record of 11-5-2.
 
The Royals defeated Tusculum College in the quarterfinal round by a score of 4-0. Senior midfielder Logan Vitale scored two goals, while freshman forward Charlotte Ring and junior midfielder Caitlyn Rodrigues tallied the other two. Currently, Ring leads the Royals this season with 11 goals and two assists for 24 points. She was named to the SAC All-Conference Second Team along with Queens' Kathy Fisher who has a total of 10 points on three goals and four assists.
 
Goalkeeper Tori Danchak has a record of 11-4-2 on the year after totaling eight shutouts.
 
Wingate advanced to the semifinal round after defeating Newberry College, 1-0, on a goal from Kaitlyn Brunworth. Brunworth leads the Bulldogs this season with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Kimmi Moore is right behind her with 12 points on five goals and two assists.
 
Wingate's goalkeeper, Alexis Jones, has nine shutouts and a record of 13-1-2 on the year.
 
The Bulldogs took the match between the two teams during the regular season by a score of 1-0 in overtime. Gabby Caliendo scored the golden goal in the 94^th minute. Additionally, the Bulldogs knocked the Royals out of tournament play last season with a 1-0 overtime win.
 
Queens last defeated Wingate during the 2013 season winning 3-2 in overtime.
