Box Score NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Men's Basketball team, ranked 22nd in the most recent NABC Coaches Poll, got their fourth win in a row as they defeated Newberry College 95-88 on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Rob Lewis was the leading scorer for the Royals as he scored 23 points in the game. He also added six rebounds and six assists on the night.
Daniel Camps scored 20 points and added a team-high nine rebounds. Other Royals who scored in double digits in the game were
Kendall Jones with 19 points and
Jacoby Davis who scored 13 points.

Queens would hold the lead for almost 34 of the 40 minutes played in the game. They would shoot 52.2% from the field, including 43.5% from three-point range. The Royals out-rebounded the Wolves 47-41 but turned the ball over 27 times in the game.

The Royals found themselves in a quick 6-0 hole to start the game after Newberry's Brandon Taylor and James Stepp would make back-to-back three pointers in the first two minutes of the game. Queens would battle back from the deficit, as they would take a one-point lead following a layup by Davis. This would spark an 8-0 run by the Royals to take their lead to 20-13 with 12:37 remaining in the first half. The Royals lead got up to 14 points with five minutes remaining in the half after Lewis would swish a three pointer to make the score 42-28. Newberry made a run to get the lead down to 43-37 with 1:24 remaining in the half, but the Royals would push it back to double-digits right before halftime as Lewis made both of his free throws to make the score 47-37 at the half.

Both teams would come out of the half pretty evenly, with Newberry unable to chip away at the lead and the Royals unable to increase their lead any larger 12 points. Jones would make a jumper with 14:01 remaining in the game to give the Royals a 60-48 lead. Two made free throws by Newberry's D.J. Copeland would make the score 66-56 in favor of the Royals. Queens would answer back by going on a 10-2 run with 9:18 remaining after a three pointer by Jones and a made free throw by Camps to make the score 76-58. The Wolves would go on an extended scoring run through the rest of the second half and cut the Royals lead down 89-86 following a layup by Xavier Holmes with 2:46 remaining in the game. Queens would answer once again and extend their lead to seven points with 40 seconds remaining following buckets by Lewis and Davis.
Sean Morgan would seal the victory as he slammed home the last points of the game on a breakaway dunk as the Royals defeated Newberry 95-88.

The Wolves were paced by Brandon Taylor who scored 18 points, 11 of which came in the second half. Xavier Holmes was second on the team in scoring as he scored 13 points and added eight rebounds.

The Royals are back in action on Saturday, November 21, 2015 as they travel to Belmont Abbey College to face off against the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m.
