Box Score Charlotte, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team (3-7, 4-10 SAC) would fall in three sets to Brevard College (6-8, 5-5 SAC) on Friday, October 9, 2015. The Royals led in kills, 42-37, as they forced the Tornados to come from behind in both the first and third sets.

Although slight, Queens held a three point gap late in the first set as Meredith Jones shot one over the net to grab a 23-20 lead. M. Jones would maintain the three point gap off a set from Annika Jones to keep the team up, 24-21. However, the set soon tied at 24-24 then again at 25-25 with both team looking for the go-ahead points. Two back-to-back errors fell upon the Royals' side giving Brevard the set.  

It would be an even run through the opening moments of the second set. The two teams tied 12 times on their way to a 20-20 score; however, a 4-0 run soon gave the Tornados the upper hand. The Royals did find an answer through Kelsey McCormick who fired a shot from the Queens' side, but Brevard found their last point to claim Set 2.

Fighting to stay alive, Queens held a 22-16 lead in the third set but was unable to find their closing rally. Three back-to-back errors by the Royals followed by three kills from the Tornados gave Brevard their match victory.

M. Jones led the day for Queens with nine kills. Three Royals would equal at seven kills apiece as Taylor Henry, Elizabeth Bialkowski and McCormick each added to the Queens' offense. Rebecca Cochran tied her season high of 18 digs in the match.

Fatima Gharachorloo led for Brevard on offense with 10 kills. She would add 12 digs to her night. Whitney DeMoss fell second in kills tallying nine during the match.

Queens will be home again tomorrow as they host Lenoir-Rhyne. The match is set for 2 p.m.
