CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Department of Athletics welcomes
Stephanie Withey to the staff as the new Director of Marketing and Promotion. Withey joins the Royals after most recently serving as the Conference Officer at Conference Carolinas.
Â
"Stephanie's experience at Clemson, High Point, and the Conference Carolinas office combined with her passion for athletics brings a winning combination to Queens Athletics," said Queens assistant athletic director
Cherie Swarthout.
Â
While at the Conference Carolinas office, Withey helped create the monthly conference digital magazine, Playmaker, which highlighted student-athlete and conference achievements. She also prepared press releases for the media, and handled marketing efforts at the conference basketball tournament. Additionally, Withey managed the social media accounts for the conference office.
Â
With the Conference Carolinas office being located in High Point, N.C., Withey was also able to gain valuable experience working with the sports information department at High Point University.
Â
Prior to moving to High Point, Withey was a graduate assistant in the Pre-Collegiate Programs Office at Clemson University. She served in that role from August 2011-May 2013, managing and facilitating pre-collegiate programs involving Clemson employees and youth participants under the age of 18. She also earned her master's degree in parks, recreation and tourism management with a concentration in community recreation during that time.
Â
While an undergraduate student at Clemson, Withey was a student employee in the sports information department where she assisted with stats, wrote press releases and conducted player interviews and published stores for the football media guides.
Â
Withey received her bachelor's degree from Clemson in marketing with a sports emphasis.
Â
"I am very excited about the opportunity to grow and aid in the quality of athletics that Queens University of Charlotte promotes," said Withey. "From the staff to the facilities, Queens produces an amazing and supportive atmosphere. I am thrilled to begin my next chapter and excited to be a part of the Queens family."
