Box Score SALISBURY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team travelled to Catawba College to take on the Indians today. In a tight game the Royals took control in the second half and rode their strong offense to a 77-67 victory.

The game opened with both teams exchanging blows, and neither wanting to give in. But the Royals were able to gain a three point lead following a
Josh Clyburn layup and subsequent foul shot.

The Royals continued to hold the lead over the next few minutes of the game, but the Indians rallied back to take a lead and force a Queens timeout with 8:40 to go. Following the timeout the Royals scored six straight points to build a 25-20 lead with seven minutes to go in the first.

Eventually the home side was able to slow down the Royals, and with 1:26 left in the first took a 34-31 advantage. The Royals did manage to cut the lead to one going into half following a
David Mason layup, with Clyburn leading the team with 15 points.

Immediately out of the half senior
Jarrett Stokes drained a three to give the Royals another lead. The Royals expanded the lead to eight, but in a back and forth game they had to hold off a surging Catawba half.

Following the lead shrinking to just three, the Royals took a double digit advantage off another Stokes three pointer with 10 minutes remaining in the game. Once again the Indians rallied and shrunk the score to 70-67 with just 2:05 to go in the game.

Yet, the ever stable Royals held off the charge, and allowed the Royals to regain control and win the game by the score of 77-67.

Clyburn led the Royals with 22 points with
Joby Glymph and Stokes also adding double digits.
Logan Evans led the Royals with 11 rebounds.

The Royals are 10-9 on the season and 8-7 in conference. They host Brevard Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
