Shonice Pettaway scored 22 points in Queens University of Charlotte's 75-63 loss at Newberry College this evening. The Royals fall to 4-15 in the SAC with the loss, while the Wolves improve to 11-8 in the league.

After trailing the Wolves 31-29 at the break, the Royals fell behind by six early in the second half. By the 12:17 mark they had tied things up with a jumper from junior guard
Abby Pettit, and a steal on the defensive end of the floor allowed them to take a one-point lead at the foul line.

Out of the under 12 media timeout, the Wolves would regain control of the lead stretching their margin out to 11 points by 7:05. A 6-0 run by the Royals brought them to within three of the home team, but Newberry responded with 9 unanswered points to end the game ahead by 12.

Newberry held a 12 point lead with 5:08 to play in the first half. A 16-0 run by the Royals equalized the game at 29-29 with 38 seconds on the clock. A pair of free-throws from Haylee Lepaio put the Wolves in the lead at the break.

In addition to leading Queens with 22 points, Pettaway led with 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Sophomore guard
Nikia Squire scored 18 points and totaled seven rebounds and four steals.

Lepaio led the Wolves with 40 points on 17-of-28 shooting. She also totaled 14 rebounds. Tasia Holdorf added 11 points.

The Royals travel to Carson-Newman College on Saturday. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
