th in the first NCAA DII Southeast Regional Poll released today. The Royals fall to 10-9 in the South Atlantic Conference with the loss, while the Wolves improve to 12-7 in league action.

The Wolves began the game with a 16-3 run 6:24 into tonight's game, and with Newberry posting a 40 percent clip from behind the three-point line in the half, Queens would trail by as much as 15 on a few occasions. At the break, the score was 44-37.

A pair of free-throws from Newberry's Brunes Charles gave the Wolves their largest lead of the game, 56-38, with 15:02 to play. Queens would get going on their next offensive possession when a dunk from Ali seemed to ignite Queens' offense. The Royals would go on a 12-0 run, with Ali scoring 10 out of the 12 points, cutting Newberry's lead to six with 12:01 on the clock.

The Wolves responded with three straight buckets from behind the three-point arc to increase their lead back out to 15 by the midway point. Queens would cut Newberry's lead to six once more on a tip-in from Clyburn with 34 seconds on the clock, but the Wolves would go on to knock down their free-throws in the final seconds holding Queens off for the win.

The Royals outscored Newberry 58-30 in the paint, but the Wolves scored 12 three-pointers compared to just two scored by Queens. Newberry also converted the Royals' 21 turnovers into 24 points. Queens won the battle under the glass, 47-39.

Dondray Walker led the Wolves with 20 points, while Mitch Riggs added 19 points.
