Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team traveled to take on Lincoln Memorial University, ranked 13
th in the NABC DII National Polls, falling to the Railsplitters in a tight game by the score of 61-56. The exciting battle between the opposing head coaches, who have spent time side by side on the same coaching staff in the past, was the first meeting between the two programs in history.

The loss brings Queens' record to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in the South Atlantic Conference. LMU improves to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in league action.

Queens' personnel disrupted the Railsplitter offense this evening holding the team, who has averaged 95.7 points this season, to just 61 tonight. Senior forward
Josh Clyburn played a large part in the Royals defense collecting four blocks to go along with his 10 points and five rebounds. Seniors
Brent Evans and
Jarrett Stokes led on the offensive end with 15 points apiece. Sophomore guard
Joby Glymph added 11 points.

Following a first half where the Royals struggled shooting from the floor posting a 28.57 field goal percentage, Queens found itself trailing the Railsplitters, 33-26. Despite the Royals' troubles with scoring, they were only behind seven due in large part to capitalizing on their opportunities at the free-throw line, shooting nearly 90 percent from the charity stripe in the opening 20 minutes.

The Royals opened the second half with an 8-2 run, closing the gap to one, 35-34, with 17:02 on the clock. A made jumper from Evans would tie the game at 38-38 at 14:38, and a Stokes and-one play would follow, giving the Royals 41-38 lead with 13:43 to play.

Queens would lead the Railsplitters up until the 9:04 mark when a foul on a made basket by Chance Jones sent the senior guard to the foul line where he gave LMU a 47-45 lead. Queens' Stokes would respond on the next possession with a bucket from three-point land to put Queens back on top.

The Royals would go ahead by as much as four points before the Railsplitters knotted the affair on two occasions, eventually taking a 56-55 lead at 2:45 with a free-throw from Lorenza Ross. After the Royals weren't able to score on the offensive end, Ross put the Railsplitters ahead 58-55 with a made jumper at 1:40.

The Royals, in an all too familiar situation this season, were forced to foul in the final seconds sending LMU to the free-throw line where they squeaked out their win.

Queens finished the game with a 34.7 field goal percentage after improving to 42.86 percent shooting in the second half.

The Railsplitters who had shot 50 percent or better from the floor in their previous games this season, shot just 38.2 percent from the floor this evening. Vincent Bailey led their offense with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Ross added 13 points.

The Royals will be at home in Curry Arena on Tuesday, November 26, hosting Coker College at 8 p.m.
