CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's tennis teams both had their home opener today against Belmont Abbey College. Both teams flexed their muscles and proved why they were picked to finish high in Conference Carolinas play recording 9-0 wins on both sides.
Despite cool temperatures and gusting winds the Royals took the court at Freedom Park and proved to be in mid-season form. The most exciting match of the day came when
Joshua Bloch (Johannesburg, South Africa, King David)won on a super tie-breaker for the third set (6-7 (8-6) 6-1 10-4).
Queens takes the court at Freedom Park again tomorrow as they take on Winston-Salem State University at 1 p.m.
