Queens Athletics is proud to announce that the men's and women's basketball teams will be participating in Coaches Versus Cancer this weekend during the games against Coker College. Head men's coach Wes Long will wear sneakers with his suit to show support for the cause. Wearing sneakers is a way to show that everyone can make steps to reduce their risk of cancer.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide movement between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society. This will be the seventh annual awareness weekend. High school and college coaches from around the country will join in this unique demonstration of support and awareness to such an important cause.
During the games members of the Queens Sports Marketing Association and Cheerleaders will be on hand to accept donations to the American Cancer Society.
Both games will be in the Ovens Athletic Center on the Campus of Queens University of Charlotte. The women's game will tip off at 5:30 pm, with the men's game slated to start at 7:30 pm.
