WILSON, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball struggled against the regionally ranked No. 6 team Barton College Monday night in Wilson, N.C. The Royals, 6-16 overall and 5-10 in Conference Carolinas action, fell 92-60.
Queens battled with Barton, 16-5 overall and 12-2 in league play, for a majority of the first half, but a 20-5 run put the Bulldogs out in front of the Royals. At half, Barton was up 48-33.
Barton continued its rally in the second half, out-scoring Queens 22-4 by the midway point.
The Royals were led by Reggie Hopkins with 12 points and Daniel Bailey with 10. Kevin Fowler had a team-high nine boards.
Barton got 13 points, five assists from Greg Mammel, 11 points from Mike Flowers and 10 points from L.J. Dunn.
Queens travels to Misenheimer, N.C., to play Pfeiffer on Thursday at 7:30pm.
