Erick Suarez (Mexico City, Mexico, Myers Park) of the men's soccer team has been selected as the October InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month after helping the Royals advance to the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament.

Suarez recorded three goals and one assist during the month to help the Royals clinch a spot in the conference tournament. A highlight of the month was the goal he scored off of a bicycle kick against Erskine. 

In the final week of play, Suarez was named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year.

"Erick has greatly impacted our team on and off the field this year," said Coach Oliver Carias.
