Gavin Rains has been named InterCon December Student-Athlete of the Month.

Rains led the nationally-ranked Royals to a 1-1 record, including a South Atlantic Conference win over Limestone University in Gaffney, S.C. In the victory over the Saints, the sophomore forward turned in his first double-double of the season with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
 
For the month, Rains averaged 16 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, including 7.5 offensive rebounds per game, while shooting 62.5 percent from the floor.
