Danielle Melilli of Douglasville, Ga., continued to find success in the pool in the Royals' meet against Duke in December as she has all season. She began the day swimming the final leg of the 200-yard medley relay, coming in at 22.90 seconds and helping the team to a third-place finish. In the 50-yard free, she raced to a time of 23.54 seconds which earned a second-place finish. Shortly after that, she would take second yet again in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.79 seconds. In the final women's event of the afternoon, Melilli kicked off the 200-yard free relay with a time of 23.40 which helped propel Queens to a first-place finish. She was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week following the meet.
