Cherise Carreira had incredible runs during October as the freshman competed in three races and placed in the top three at each event. At the USC Upstate Invitational, Carreira stormed to a third-place finish behind two NCAA Division I Furman athletes with a time of 18:04.8. The phenomenal performance netted the South Africa native with USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week and Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Runner of the Week honors. At the SAC Cross Country Championships, Carreira placed third and received SAC All-Conference First Team and All-Freshman Team honors following the conference meet.
