Freshman thrower Martin Knauer was named SAC Freshman Athlete and Field Athlete of the Year after helping the Royals capture their fourth consecutive SAC Championship title. During the month, he recorded six first-place finishes. At the App State Mountaineer Open, Knauer recorded personal-best throws of 17.65 meters in the shot put and 48.27 meters in discus. His shot put mark set a new school record while his discus mark ranks second at Queens.
