Catie Byrd was named the Intercon Athlete of the Month for November leading the Royals in both Regionals and Nationals.

Byrd found her way to the top of the competition in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Regional Championships securing her place as Southeast Regional Runner of the Year. At Regionals, Byrd’s time of 22:25.3 gave her a 20 second gap in the race in addition to being a personal best run. She would top her time at nationals reaching the finish line in 21:06.8. Byrd finished with the highest individual ranking in school history at the NCAA Division II National Championship Meet to claim All-America Status with 25^th place.

“Catie showed her true dedication to the sport this season, leaving nothing unturned,” said Coach Tsehaye Baney.  “She truly excelled above and beyond throughout the entire season and I could not be more proud. She demonstrates what a leader and role model should look like.”
