Senior runner Felix Duchampt was named InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month following a great month of competition in Ocotber.
Duchampt, a member of the men’s cross country team, raced to two top-10 finishes during the month of October. He first placed third in the Montevallo Falcon Classic, posting a time of 26:09.6. Later in the month he raced to a seventh place finish in the Greater Louisville Classic after he crossed the line in 25:16.8. At the meet, he ran in the fastest section of the three placing in front of runners from NCAA Division I institutions such as Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Georgia.
“Felix has shown tremendous dedication to the sport on and off the track,” said Queens head coach Jim Vahrenkamp. His leadership skills are present by his actions day in and day out. He is the type of athlete that every coach desires to coach.”
