Megan Duran enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Queens University of Charlotte women’s basketball program. Duran enters her twelfth season coaching at the colligate level. She joined the Royals bench for the 2013-2014 season after serving as the head coach for five years at Washington College in Chestertown, Md. Duran is in charge of recruiting, scouting, and is the director of all the women’s basketball camps at Queens. She is also, heavily involved with all day-to-day workouts, and overseeing academic progress of individual players.
During her tenure as a head coach, Duran tied the best record in program history (16 Wins). For the first time in program history one of her freshmen landed on the Second Team All Centennial Conference and had a player named Third Team All-Region by d3hoops.com. Duran was voted 2010-2011 Coach of the Year from the Washington College Student Events Board and implemented various programs within the athletic department.
In addition to her time at Washington College, Duran also had stints at Pfeiffer University, Newbury College and Hartwick College. She served in various roles at each school, including sports information director, assistant athletic director, and senior women’s administrator.

She does a tremendous job in the recruitment of student-athletes that best “fit” the program at Queens University of Charlotte. Having served as a head coach she bring a lot of experience to the table and invaluable insights. We are fortunate to have her here at Queens”.
Duran hails from Stafford, Va., and was a standout player at Francis Marion where she was recruited and played two season under now head coach at North Carolina State University, Wes Moore. At Francis Marion she was a two-year starter, two-time team captain and compiled an overall record of 103-22 in her career. She helped lead her team to four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances while competing in a final four and two sweet sixteen’s.
