Gregg Watterson

Gregg Watterson joins the Royals men’s lacrosse program helping on the defensive end.

Watterson is originally from Long Island, N.Y. where he attended powerhouse Hicksville High School. He is a graduate of Wingate University where he received his B.S. in communication in 2003. He also earned his MBA in 2007 from Wingate.

While pursuing his undergraduate degree Watterson was a member of the lacrosse team. During his time with the Bulldogs, he was a two time Deep South All-Conference Defender and a member of the All Time Wingate Lacrosse Team. In addition, Watterson was named the John R. Dodd Leadership Award recipient and was a team captain for three years. In 2001, he helped lead his team to a NCAA Final Four appearance.

Watterson has worked with many lacrosse programs in the Charlotte area. In 2005 he was the head coach for the Weddington Middle School boy’s lacrosse team and the defensive coordinator for Wingate’s men’s lacrosse program. He continued working with the Bulldogs in 2006. Watterson moved on to work with Team Charlotte’s Varsity Boys in 2007 and 2008. He was also the varsity boy’s defensive coordinator at North Mecklenburg High School in 2008.

Watterson serves as a member on the Board of Charlotte Men’s Post Collegiate Club Lacrosse Team today. He also still plays competitive lacrosse and ice hockey.
