In 2020, Titus Ivory enters his second season at Queens. Last season, the Royals posted a 24-7 record, winning 10 of their final 11 games. Queens capped the year with a fifth-straight top-25 finish in both major national polls, earning the No. 15 ranking in the final media poll and the No. 23 ranking in the final coaches' poll, after reaching the top-10 of both polls for the fifth consecutive year. The Royals claimed the No. 2 seed in the Southeast Regional of the NCAA Division II Men's basketball Championship before the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ivory brings over 30 years of experience in amateur and professional basketball to the Royals. A Charlotte native and graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, Ivory played basketball collegiately at Penn State University, after a standout high school career in basketball, football, and track and field. At Penn State, Ivory earned All-Big Ten and Defensive Player of the Year Honors. During the 2001 NCAA Tournament, Ivory scored 21 points against fifth-ranked University of North Carolina, helping Penn State to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 45 years.
After college, Ivory played basketball professionally overseas for 11 years, during which he won two European Championships and one National Cup Championship. Upon retirement of his playing career, Ivory entered coaching at the high school level. He is currently an educator in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District and last season helped the West Charlotte High School boy's basketball team reach the North Carolina State Championship.
Ivory and his wife Nicole live in Charlotte with their four children, Talia, Titus, Nia, and Norrie.
