A native of South Carolina, Felks Jr. joined the staff in the summer of 2024 following six seasons on staff at Coastal Carolina under former head coach Gary Gilmore. During that span, the Chanticleers made five NCAA Tournament Regional appearances and won a pair of Sun Belt Tournament titles. Felks Jr. started as a student manager in 2018 and assisted the program in day-to-day operations, including practice and pre-game setup, equipment management, and operational needs.
Following three seasons as a student manager, Felks Jr. transitioned to a graduate assistant role where he served as the Field and Equipment Coordinator. Felks Jr. was the point of contact for all equipment orders while assisting the Director of Baseball Operations with day-to-day tasks. Felks Jr. assisted in the Chanticleers recruiting efforts and helped increase the social media presence of the team's Instagram and TikTok accounts.
