Royals Drop Road Match At Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team dropped a 2-nil decision to Gardner-Webb University in the second all-time meeting between the two programs on Sunday evening at Greene-Harbison Field in Boiling Springs, N.C.

Turning Point
The Runnin' Bulldogs struck early, opening the scoring in the fifth minute off a through ball on the right side of the box. McBride made a run toward the far post and placed her shot into the bottom-left corner to give Gardner-Webb a 1-nil advantage.Queens kept the deficit at one for much of the evening before Gardner-Webb added an insurance goal with just over nine minutes remaining. Chavez found the back of the net from outside the box to extend the Runnin' Bulldogs' advantage to 2-nil.
