CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte Department of Athletics is set to announce its annual department award winners across its multiple social media channels during the summer months, honoring the accomplishments of its student-athletes during the 2025-26 season.
The department awards will be released every Tuesday and Thursday. Today, the department is announcing the Team Comeback Win of the Year.
Men's and Women's Team Comeback Win of the Year
Women's Volleyball vs. Stetson - 3-2 win on Nov. 2, 2025
Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball delivered one of its most memorable victories of the season, rallying past Stetson for a 3–2 win (25–22, 19–25, 22–25, 25–19, 17–15). After taking the opening set, the Royals dropped the next two and found themselves trailing 4–0 in the decisive fifth set before mounting a remarkable comeback. Queens responded by hitting .323 in the final frame to force a dramatic finish.
Senior Mia McMillen led the way with 15 kills, 13 digs, and four blocks, while Elizabeth Layson added 15 kills and Emma Norris chipped in 14 on .333 hitting. Megan Kelly ignited the rally with a pivotal serving run, and Callie DeSchryver delivered the match-winning kill to seal the 17–15 victory.

Men's Volleyball vs. No. 11 Ohio State, 3-2 win on February 15, 2026
The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team produced one of the most impressive comeback victories in program history, rallying from a two-set deficit to upset No. 11 Ohio State, 3–2 (22–25, 20–25, 25–22, 25–20, 18–16), inside the Levine Center. After dropping the opening two sets, the Royals found their rhythm with a balanced offensive attack, forcing a fifth set that featured seven ties before Queens scored the final two points to complete the reverse sweep and earn its first home MIVA victory of the season.
Casey Maas powered the comeback with 22 kills on a .405 hitting percentage while adding seven digs, and Nathan Vaupel chipped in eight kills on an efficient .636 clip with four blocks. Charlie Podgorny orchestrated the offense with 42 assists and 10 digs as Queens hit .276 as a team, overcoming an Ohio State squad that recorded 59 kills to secure the program's first victory over a ranked opponent since February 2024.
