CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte placed 12 student-athletes on the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® At-Large Team, as announced Tuesday afternoon. The annual recognition honors individuals who have excelled both academically and athletically across a range of NCAA at-large sports.
Three women's lacrosse players — Kayleen Favreau, Melaina Springer, and Isabella Swanson — earned a spot on the list following strong contributions on the field and in the classroom. They were joined by field hockey teammates Sydney Smith and Jarmilla Richter, as well as women's golfer Maria Bethania Fernandez, who helped lead the Royals on and off the green.
On the men's side, men's volleyball was represented by Casey Maas and Chance Shampine. Men's lacrosse players Ryan McDaniel and Ty Schreck also made the list, while Thomas Taylor-Cross and Dean Richards rounded out the Queens selections from golf.
