THE SHORT STORY
Despite grabbing a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning, the Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped game two of the weekend series at North Florida as a grand slam from the Ospreys in the bottom of the fifth proved to be a key play in the game. The Royals offense was held in check with four hits, as Ospreys reliever Brandon Adams tossed the final four innings and struck out seven.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After four scoreless innings, Queens cracked the scoring column first in the top of the fifth inning with two runs. Dylan Schaefer worked a four-pitch walk to lead off the inning before a one-out double from Hunter Huneycutt put a pair of Royals into scoring position. A passed ball brought home Schaefer for the game's first run. With two outs, Hunter Huneycutt stole home and used an impressive swim move to avoid the Ospreys catcher and give the Royals a 2-0 lead.
-North Florida responded right back in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Ospreys loaded the bases behind two walks and a single before Carter White belted a grand slam to right field to put the Ospreys back ahead 4-2.
-The Ospreys added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, a wild pitch got to the backstop and brought home the baserunner to extend the North Florida lead to 5-2.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Hunter Huneycutt continued his hot stretch with a 1-for-4 night, including his second double of the season. The sophomore has recorded a hit in five of the last six games.
-Lenox Lively extended his hitting streak to four straight games with a 1-for-3 game, including his third double of the year.
-Junior Dylan Schaefer also extended his hitting streak to five straight games with a 1-for-3 night.
-Grayson Childers rounded out the offense with a 1-for-5 performance as the junior has a hit in 13 of his last 15 games.
-Joey Ruller got the ball for his eighth start of the season and turned in five innings of work. The southpaw surrendered four runs on two hits while striking out six Ospreys.
-Gibson Jones made his seventh appearance out of the bullpen and tossed 1.2 scoreless innings.
