CHARLOTTE, N.C. — T.W. Andrews High School standout Janiya Milligan has officially signed to continue her academic and athletic career with the Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball program, marking a major milestone for one of the Triad's most impactful student- athletes.
A 6-foot-2 forward from the Class of 2026, Milligan has built a reputation as a dominant presence in the paint and a versatile contributor on both ends of the floor in Greensboro. She earned First Team All-Area honors and was named Mid-State 2A Conference Player of the Year, highlighting her influence throughout the season.
"Janiya brings a high-level presence to our program that's hard to teach," said head coach
Jen Brown. "She's a dynamic post who combines strength, mobility, and touch. Her ability to impact the game in multiple ways really sets her apart."
"I am grateful for the opportunity and ready for the responsibility to build a new family and succeed together," said Milligan.
Milligan averaged 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists per game, showcasing her all-around skill set. She also delivered standout performances throughout the year, including a Player of the Game effort with 11 points and 21 rebounds against Northern Guilford.
Brown said, "Whether it's scoring inside, facing up, or anchoring us defensively - she gives us tremendous flexibility. Her character and work effort will elevate our locker room and make a meaningful impact across our campus from day."
A key leader for the Lady Red Raiders, Milligan helped guide T.W. Andrews to a 25-2 overall record, an undefeated 12-0 conference mark, and both the Mid-State 2A Conference regular season and tournament championships. The team also advanced to the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs Elite Eight.
Beyond basketball, Milligan has excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, demonstrating the discipline and commitment that make her a true student-athlete.
