THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team fell in three sets to Lindenwood on Thursday evening at the Levine Center. The Royals kept things competitive early in each set but were unable to overcome Lindenwood's efficient offensive attack, as the Lions hit .240.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Queens came out with energy in the opening set, staying level early and forcing Lindenwood to earn every point. The Royals recorded multiple early blocks and kept the Lions from pulling away, but a late Lindenwood run proved to be the difference in a 25-20 decision.

The second set featured some of Queens' best stretches of the match, as the Royals cleaned up errors and continued to pressure Lindenwood offensively. Queens limited long scoring runs and stayed within a few points late, but the Lions again capitalized in key moments to take another 25-20 set.

In the third, Queens continued to battle, with several extended rallies and improved attacking efficiency compared to the opening frame. The Royals stayed within reach midway through the set before Lindenwood's offense found another gear, hitting .412 in the final frame to close out the match at 25-19.

BY THE NUMBERS
Connor Dell and Caden Ledbetter paced Queens with six kills apiece, while Dell added two block assists. Charlie Podgorny dished out 22 assists to guide the Royals' offense. Defensively, Casey Maas led the team with seven digs, while Queens totaled seven team blocks in the match.

Lindenwood was led by Jake Schreiner's eight kills on a .375 hitting percentage, while Owen Walsh added six kills and five total blocks. Zach Solomon orchestrated the offense with 28 assists as the Lions totaled 32 kills and hit efficiently across all three sets.

Queens will look to bounce back and face Lindenwood for the series finale on Saturday, March 21.
