CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte invites the entire Charlotte community and beyond to join the Royals for the NCAA DI Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Show watch party on Sunday, March 15. The celebration will take place inside Curry Arena, located inside the Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation.
Sunday's celebration begins at 4 p.m. with complimentary food and a cashless bar on the Levine Lawn. At 5:30 p.m., we'll fill the stands in Curry Arena before the bracket reveal, broadcasting live at 6 p.m. on CBS. Community members interested in attending must claim a free ticket at

"We are extremely excited to welcome our community to campus to join us in celebrating this joyous occasion," Queens Director of Athletics
Cherie Swarthout commented. "Earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament in just our first year of eligibility is no easy feat, as we are just one of three schools to have ever accomplished this goal. I can't wait to see everyone there as we celebrate the team as the bracket is revealed. Our head coach,
Grant Leonard, has done a phenomenal job of leading his program through reclassification and positioning us for this moment. A moment that is great for our athletic department, and just as important, it's great for the broader Charlotte community. "
Royals fans are encouraged to wear Queens gear -- or navy and gold--to show Royals pride. The first 1,000 fans to scan their tickets upon entrance into the arena will receive a free men's basketball #BeTheFirst t-shirt commemorating this historical moment for Queens.
Queens became a full NCAA DI member on July 1, 2025, after beginning the reclassification process on July 1, 2022. This is the men's basketball team's first Atlantic Sun Conference Championship win and their first automatic bid to the NCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship in program history.
"This championship is a historic milestone not just for Queens University, but for the entire city of Charlotte," said Queens University President Jesse Cureton '02. "Our student-athletes have earned the honor of representing this city on college basketball's biggest stage, and we couldn't be prouder to be Charlotte's team in the Big Dance."
