THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team opened MIVA play Thursday evening with a loss at No. 9 Ball State inside Worthen Arena. The Royals showed stretches of efficient offense and battled through 32 tie scores, but the Cardinals' service pressure and late-set execution proved decisive in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 result.

- Queens hit .273 as a team with 36 kills on 88 swings.
- The Royals totaled 32 assists, 26 digs, and nine blocks (three solo, six assists).
- Queens posted its best offensive set in the second, hitting .387 with 14 kills and two errors.
