Third-Quarter Surge Lifts Jacksonville Past Queens

THE SHORT STORY
Queens was unable to slow Jacksonville's offensive rhythm Wednesday night, falling 84–49 at Swisher Gymnasium in ASUN action. The Dolphins built separation in the second quarter and extended the margin after halftime, while the Royals continued to compete behind strong efforts from Jermany Mapp and Hannah Hicks.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Jermany Mapp led Queens with 15 points, reaching double figures for the 16th time this season. 
  • Hannah Hicks posted 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds, recording her third double-double of the season.
  • Dayuna Colvin added eight points and three assists, while Magda Freire finished with eight points and a pair of steals.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
  • Jacksonville set the tone early, opening on a 7–2 run and limiting Queens to three made field goals in the first quarter to take a 16–10 lead.
  • The Dolphins continued to build momentum in the second quarter, taking a 37–20 lead into halftime.
  • Queens opened the third quarter with interior buckets from Hannah Hicks and free throws from Dayuna Colvin to trim the deficit, but Jacksonville answered with a sustained scoring run and shot over 60 percent in the quarter.
  • Queens continued to compete in the fourth behind Jermany Mapp's late baskets, but Jacksonville maintained control to close out the game.
