Ross Named ASUN Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following a dominant performance in the pool, Queens' Haley Ross has been named ASUN Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor marks Queens' seventh weekly swimming award of the season.

Ross powered the Royals to a decisive 182.5-70.5 conference dual meet victory over Gardner-Webb, sweeping both backstroke events and delivering key points in the league matchup. She opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke, touching in 55.58 to give Queens early momentum.

She later added another commanding win in the 200 backstroke, posting a season-best 1:57.18 to complete the sweep and secure her second individual title of the day.

Ross' pair of victories helped Queens control the meet from start to finish and highlighted one of the top individual performances in the ASUN last week, earning her the conference's weekly recognition.

"It has been an amazing season with seven of our swimmers being recognized for their work they are doing in the pool against our competitors," Director of Swimming Congratulations on Haley earning her first. She had a phenomenal meet vs Gardner-Webb and was recognized for her achievements.
