CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (0-7) hosted La Salle University (2-5) in a tight match this morning, falling in double overtime by a score of 2-1.
INSIDE THE MATCH
Coming out of the halftime break, the Explorers struck first, scoring a goal in the 35
th minute of action. The Royals'
Enya Kemp would tie things up late in the game, finding the back of the cage with less than five minutes to play off a penalty corner.
Kemp's goal would send the game into overtime, where it seemed as if the game was heading to a shootout. However, a foul inside the attacking circle led to a penalty stroke opportunity for La Salle, and Sofie Enriquez stepped up to score the golden goal and end the match in the 76
th minute.
