CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens University of Charlotte head men's basketball coach
Grant Leonard is excited to announce the addition of Jimma James to the 2025 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon. James, a 6-6 guard from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, comes to the Queen City after spending last season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Oklahoma.

Grant Leonard. "He has great character and fits what this team is about. He will be on the most impressive athletes in the ASUN and we are excited to see what he accomplishes at Queens."

James spent last season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he made 31 appearances, including 27 starts for the Golden Norsemen. The sophomore averaged 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and 37 percent beyond the arc. Â

The lengthy guard poured in nine double-digit games, including a season high 27 points against Northern Oklahoma College Enid. James posted a pair of double-doubles, including a 17-point and 11-rebound effort against Arkansas Tech University. James showcased his playmaking ability by dishing out 10 assists against Seminole State College.

Before Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, James spent a season at Casper College, where he appeared in 33 games. As a freshman, James averaged 10.8 points game, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 31 percent from beyond the arc. James poured in five 20-point games, including a season-high 27 against Lamar Community College. Â

Coming out of high school, James was ranked as a three-star prospect and top 300 nationally, according to 247Sports. James attended Huntington Expression Prep in West Virginia, where he was tabbed the top player in the state.

Queens is coming off their third Division 1 campaign, which was a historic one. The Royals reached the 20-win mark for the first time in Division 1, and the 19th time in school history. Queens made their third consecutive trip to the Atlantic Sun Tournament and defeated Florida Gulf Coast to advance to their first semifinal appearance. Following the 19-14 season, Queens accepted an invitation to the 2025 Purple College Basketball Invitational, where they took down Northern Arizona in the opening round.  Â
