SAMORIN, SLOVAKIA – Queens University of Charlotte swimmer Daniel Meszaros delivered standout performances representing Hungary at the European U23 Championships held June 26-28.
Meszaros competed in two individual events and two relays during the championship meet. He opened competition in the 50m freestyle, posting a time of 23.00 to finish 31st overall. Later in the meet, he raced the 100m freestyle, where he touched in 49.47, earning 12th place among Europe's top U23 sprinters.
Relay action highlighted Meszaros' international showing. In the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, he led off Hungary's prelim squad with a 49.93, securing the top seed for finals. Returning for the final, Meszaros improved his leadoff split to 49.54, helping propel Hungary to a gold medal finish in the event.
Additionally, Meszaros anchored Hungary's 4x100m mixed medley relay in the championship final, recording a 49.30 freestyle split as Hungary placed fourth overall with a time of 3:50.19.
The European U23 Championships served as an important international stage for Meszaros as he continues preparing for potential World Championship qualification later this season.
