CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte head men's basketball coach
Grant Leonard is thrilled to announce the addition of Isaiah Henry to the 2025 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon. Henry, a 6-4 shooting guard originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, comes to the Queen City after spending a season with the OTE Diamond Doves of PHHoenix Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.
"Isaiah is a player that we have evaluated many times over his four-year high school career," said Leonard. "His physicality and athleticism are off the charts for the ASUN and he has won a ton of big games over his career. He will be a crowd favorite for many years during his time as a Royal!"
Henry, a three-star prospect and the 17
th best player in the state of Arizona according to 247Sports, spent his final high school season with the OTE Diamond Doves. The physical guard averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. In the regular season finale against Blue Checks, Henry notched an impressive 31-point and 11-rebound double-double behind 6-of-10 shooting from downtown to lead the Diamond Doves to a 95-67 win.
Across 20 appearances, Henry notched five double-doubles and dropped 20+ points across eight games. Despite playing just one season in the Overtime Elite league, Henry left his mark, ranking top 25 in the league in scoring, rebounding, and steals.
Before the move west, Henry spent three years at the Cannon School in Concord, where he helped the Cougars capture a pair of CISAA Conference Championships. Against Charlotte Christian, the 1,000-point scorer posted a 33-point and 15-rebound effort to secure the 83-62 win. According to Big Shots, Henry was ranked the No. 2 shooting guard in North Carolina in the class of 2025 while also ranking top 125 nationally.
Henry was a highly sought-after recruit with multiple offers from power programs, including Clemson, South Carolina, Georgetown, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, and many others. Henry is the younger brother of current Philadelphia Eagles linebacker and Clemson alum, K.J. Henry.
Queens is coming off their third Division 1 campaign, which was a historic one. The Royals reached the 20-win mark for the first time in Division 1, and the 19
th time in school history. Queens made their third consecutive trip to the Atlantic Sun Tournament and defeated Florida Gulf Coast to advance to their first semifinal appearance. Following the 19-14 season, Queens accepted an invitation to the 2025 Purple College Basketball Invitational, where they took down Northern Arizona in the opening round.
