THE SHORT STORY:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In a tight ASUN battle on Friday afternoon, Queens (N.C.) earned the doubles point but fell just short overall, dropping a 4-3 decision to visiting Lipscomb. The Royals notched a pair of straight-set singles wins, only to see the Bisons surge back and clinch the match in a decisive third set on court three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lipscomb struck first in doubles, capturing the No. 3 court, 6-1. Queens responded with two 6-3 victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions to secure the doubles point.

- In singles, Gavin Ryan grabbed early momentum for the Royals with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 victory on court four, while Luke Coppage earned another point for Queens at No. 6, winning 6-4, 6-4.

- At the top position, Laurenz Blickwede played a clean match to prevail 6-3, 6-4.

- Lipscomb battled back on courts two, three, and five, clinching the overall victory with a pair of three-set triumphs. The decisive match came at No. 3, where the Bisons rallied past Jan Montero Diaz, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

NEXT UP
Queens returns to action on Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Howard Levine Tennis Center, hosting North Alabama for Senior Day. The Royals will honor Laurenz Blickwede, Win Steveker, and Lukas Gosselin before first serve.
