The Short Story:

Justin Hudson led the charge with a 2-for-4 night, including his sixth home run of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Wofford jumped on the board first in the bottom of the second inning with a run on a timely hit. After Queens starter
Jack Renaud picked up two quick outs, a one out walk to Andrew Mannelly put the first baserunner on. Mannelly advanced to second on a passed ball before moving up to third on a wild pitch, and Tyler Hare sent a two-out RBI double down the right field line for the early 1-0 lead.
-In the bottom of the third inning, the Terriers erupted with six runs on three hits. Wofford capitalized on three walks and a hit-by-pitch with timely hits before a costly Queens error brought home two more runs for a 7-1 lead.
-The Royals answered back in the top of the fourth inning as
Justin Hudson and
Jake Barbour ripped back-to-back singles to start the frame. Veteran
Tyler Peters dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move the pair into scoring position.
Will Budnick stepped in and laced a ground ball into the hole, but a diving stop by the Terriers second baseman cut down Budnick at first. However, Hudson came around to score on the play as the Royals trailed 7-1 heading into the bottom half of the fourth.
-Wofford answered back in the bottom half with two runs on two hits and a Queens error. With runners on the corners and two outs, James Layman laced a two-run double to right field to give the Terriers a 9-3 advantage.
-Queens countered back in the top of the fifth inning as
Ryan Brown got the rally started with a one-out double down the right field line. Shortstop
Anibal Rivera stepped in and blasted a two-run home run to right center to cut the deficit back down to six.
-For the fourth straight frame, the Terriers scored plating three runs on three hits and two Queens errors in the bottom of the fifth inning. The inning was highlighted by an RBI triple off the bat of Tyler Hare.
-After both offenses went down in the sixth inning, the Royals plated a run in back-to-back innings. Freshman
Jay Polite greeted the newest Wofford arm in the top of the seventh with a home run to center field in a 1-1 count. The next inning,
Justin Hudson led off the frame with a solo blast to left field to cut the deficit to 12-5.
-Wofford responded in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run on two hits. Niko Brini started the inning with a triple to right center before a one-out ground out plated Brini for the 13-5 lead.
