Men's & Women's Swimming Earn Royals Service Award Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte women's and men's swimming and diving teams have earned the Royal Service Award for the month of March, the athletic communications office announced this month.

Continuing to demonstrate their strong commitment to service, the two programs combined for 98 validated hours of community involvement across 35 service commitments. The women's team saw 25 of its 31 members participate throughout the month, while the men's team had 29 of 38 student-athletes involved. Together, the teams produced a combined Team Impact Score of 124.

One of the month's featured service efforts included participation in the "All In to Fight Cancer" event, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Members of the men's team contributed to event operations, supporting the cause and strengthening Queens' presence in impactful, health-centered outreach efforts.

Additional service activities from the month spanned various categories, including educational outreach, nonprofit support, and community development. Across these commitments, the teams reinforced their investment in servant leadership by consistently showing up for causes that matter throughout the Charlotte area.

ABOUT THE ROYALS SERVICE AWARD
In the past, Queens Athletics has presented an annual Royal Service Award to individual student-athletes or teams who have gone above and beyond to help improve the Queens community. Criteria for this award include acts of community engagement that are purposeful, progressive, deliberate, intentional, and impactful to the Queens campus and the greater community.

Honoring Queens student-athletes with a monthly award in addition to the annual award will strengthen the support of the University's motto, "Not to be served, but to serve."
