CHARLOTTE, N.C. –The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (3-5) collected an 18-12 win over Niagara University (2-6) this afternoon at Dickson Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading 8-7 at the half, Queens used a 7-2 run in the third quarter to increase the margin to six, 15-9. The Royals then matched Niagara's goal count in the fourth quarter to secure their win.
KEY STATS & NOTES
- Elise Grissett led the Royals in points today with six on four goals and two assists. The junior midfielder recorded a hat trick in the first quarter of play to record her 100th career point.
- Kayleen Favreau led in goals with five, while Jordan Tandler added two goals and two assists. Karsyn Sadler and Isabella Swanson scored two goals each, and Michaela Paterson tallied one goal and two assists.
- Lily Greenwell recorded a career-high four assists and Maya Elwood scored her first collegiate goal.
- Queens totaled 14 caused turnovers with Savannah Donahue and Grissett tallying four each which was a career high for both players.
- In goal, Devan Maready earned her third win of the season after recording nine saves.
- Michaela Delles led the Purple Eagles with a hat trick.
- Queens put 26 shots on goal compared to Niagara's 21 shots on frame. The Royals also won the battle for ground balls 22-11.
