THE SHORT STORY:Â
Charlotte, N.C. – The Queens University women's tennis team battled against Davidson at the Howard Levine Tennis Center but fell short in a 5-1 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore
Lucy Hogan provided the highlight of the day for the Royals, securing the lone victory in singles play with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 win over Kavya Patel at the No. 1 position.
- Queens faced challenges across the rest of the singles lineup.
Zoe Cvitanovic,
Andreea Onitoiu, and
Audrey Serb all dropped their matches in straight sets, while the No. 5 singles spot was forfeited.
- In doubles play, the Royals put up a fight, particularly at the No. 1 spot, where Hogan and Onitoiu pushed Patel and Daniela Porges to a tiebreak before ultimately falling 7-6 (7-3).
- The No. 2 pairing of Cvitanovic and Serb struggled to gain momentum, suffering a 6-1 defeat.
- Queens was also forced to forfeit the No. 3 doubles match, giving Davidson the advantage.

Queens will return to action on Wednesday, February 12, when they take on Gardner-Webb at 11 a.m. in Boiling Springs, N.C.
