THE SHORT STORY
Behind a career-high 27 points and nine three-pointers from senior
Chris Ashby, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team cruised past Central Arkansas on Wednesday night to pick up their third straight victory. The nine three-pointers from Ashby marked the most by a Royal in the Division 1 era as he surpassed his previous record set earlier in the season.
BY THE NUMBERS

Chris Ashby paced the offense with a career-high 27 points on 9-of-26 shooting from the perimeter. The 26 attempts from deep were the most by a Queens player in Division 1 as he connected on nine shots from deep to set the Division 1 program record. The Houston, Texas native also added two rebounds and matched his career high with three steals on the defensive end.

Leo Colimerio stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points while adding eight rebounds and a game-high five assists.

Jaxon Pollard came off the bench and made a significant impact on the glass pulling down a team-high nine rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.

Yoav Berman turned in another quality performance with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists.
-Veterans
Kalib Mathews and
Bryce Cash combined to score 11 points while adding four rebounds and seven assists.
-Queens held the Bears to 47 points, the lowest mark by a Division 1 opponent this season. The Royals kept Central Arkansas to 18 first-half points which was the lowest scoring output by an opponent in a single half this season.
-Queens controlled the boards 42-39 and improved to 14-2 this season when outrebounding their opponents.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Wednesday night started slow for the Royals as the visitors went into the first media break down 4-0 after missing on their first eight attempts. The Queens' defense managed to keep the Bears at bay with a 2-for-7 start and a pair of turnovers.
-Trailing 6-3 with 12:35 remaining in the first half, the Royals ripped off a 15-0 run as
Chris Ashby found his groove connecting on a trio of shots from the perimeter. The sharpshooter would finish the first half with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting as the Bears struggled to contain the perimeter.
-Leading 42-22 with 17:22 remaining in the game, Queens sparked an 11-2 run behind three more three-pointers from Ashby to extend the lead to 26.
-The Bears wouldn't cave putting together a 15-2 run over six minutes to cut the deficit down to 13. During that run, five different Bears scored a bucket as they connected on 7-of-11 attempts from the field.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-With the incredible performance from the perimeter,
Chris Ashby moved into second all-time for three-pointers surpassing Todd Withers and Reginald Hopkins.
-The victory pushed Queens to the 15-win mark for the second time in Division 1, and the 29
th time in program history.
-The Royals attempted 45 shots from the perimeter which were the most in a single game in Division 1. Queens matched their season-high connecting on 14 of those attempts from deep.
