THE SHORT STORY:Â
MACON, Ga. – The Queens women's tennis team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 7-0 to Mercer at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Royals were short-handed, conceding points by default in two singles and one doubles match, putting them in an early deficit. Despite the setback, Queens battled hard in the remaining matchups.
- In doubles play, the duo of
Lucy Hogan and
Andreea Onitoiu pushed their opponents to the brink but ultimately fell 7-5 to Mercer's Marie Bannmeyer and Dzhastina Mikhnova.

Jett Coetzee and
Audrey Serb were unable to build momentum, dropping their match 6-0.
- On the singles court, Hogan put up a strong fight at the top spot, forcing a second-set tiebreaker before falling 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to Marina Quinones.
- Onitoiu was also competitive at No. 2 but came up short in a 6-4, 6-3 decision.
- Coetzee and Serb were unable to find their rhythm, each dropping straight-set matches.

Queens will look to bounce back as they hit the road again for a Sunday, March 2 matchup against Radford.
