THE SHORT STORY
Queens University delivered a historic performance on Senior Night, defeating North Alabama 59-52 in Curry Arena. The victory was a milestone for the program, marking the Royals first double-digit win season since the 2018-2019 season and their most wins under head coach Jen Brown since transitioning to Division I. The win also secured Queens first back-to-back ASUN Conference wins. Queens improved to 10-18 overall and 4-13 in ASUN play, while the Lions dropped to 12-16, 7-10 in conference play. Before the game, the Royals honored Kemia Ward, Aylesha Wade, Jordyn Weaver, and Tiziana Huici in their final home game, making their Senior Night even more memorable.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Kemia Ward delivered a standout performance, securing her second double-double of the season with 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards. Ward was a force on both ends of the floor, adding three steals and three blocks.

- Jermany Mapp was another key contributor, finishing with 14 points, including a clutch three-pointer in the fourth quarter to maintain Queens lead.

- Jordyn Weaver added 11 points and six rebounds, playing with high energy on both ends of the floor.

- Magda Freire provided a spark off the bench, adding seven points, including a timely three-pointer in the final period.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
Queens controlled the game for over 33 minutes, steadily building their advantage throughout the contest. The Royals largest lead of 11 points came late in the third quarter after an 8-0 scoring run that gave them a comfortable cushion heading into the final period. During the stretch, Jermany Mapp knocked down a key three-pointer, Kemia Ward added a putback layup, and Ana Barreto hit a mid-range jumper, capping off the run and forcing North Alabama into a timeout.

The Royals ability to capitalize on defensive stops and convert second-chance opportunities allowed Queens to maintain control, never letting North Alabama regain the lead after the early minutes of the first quarter.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- The Royals outrebounded North Alabama 41-28, including a commanding 23 offensive boards, which led to a 20-10 advantage in second-chance points.

- This is the first win over North Alabama in the series history.

- Queens defensive intensity forced 15 turnovers, converting them into 20 points, while also limiting North Alabama to just .133 shooting from three-point range.

- The Royals displayed their depth, with the bench making a strong impact by adding 15 points.

- Jordyn Weaver is approaching a career milestone, currently just 23 points away from reaching 1,000, while also climbing the program's record books, moving into 7th all-time in career rebounds with 636.

- Kemia Ward added three blocks, bringing her career total to 72 and further solidifying her hold on sixth place in Queens all-time blocks list, while Kristy Jolly holds the record with 205.
