CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University women's tennis team competed against UNC Greensboro on Sunday at the Howard Levine Tennis Center but came up short in a 6-1 loss to the Spartans.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite a tough outing, the Royals showed resilience, highlighted by a thrilling comeback win from
Jett Coetzee in singles play. Coetzee dropped the first set 2-6 but bounced back with a 7-5 second set before clinching the match in a dramatic 10-8 tiebreaker.
- In the No. 1 singles match,
Lucy Hogan pushed Olivia Gallagher to the limit, taking the first set 6-4. However, Gallagher rallied to win the second set 7-5 and edged Hogan in a tight 11-9 third-set tiebreaker.
- Queens faced challenges in doubles play, with UNCG securing the point by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. The No. 1 duo of Hogan and
Andreea Onitoiu were in a competitive battle but left their match unfinished at 4-3.

Up next, the Royals travel to Macon, Georgia, to take on Mercer on Thursday, Feb. 27, with the match set to begin at 11 a.m.
