THE SHORT STORY
Facing a hot Wake Forest squad in their second game of the weekend, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team fell 111-73 inside LJVM Coliseum on Sunday night. The Demon Deacons were efficient with their looks, shooting 62 percent from the floor, including a 52 percent clip from downtown.

Chris Ashby led the Royals with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the perimeter.

Avantae Parker turned in 14 points on a perfect 6-for-6 night from the field while also grabbing four rebounds.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Both offenses wasted no time scoring combining to shoot 6-for-12 from behind the arc in the first four minutes of action to head into the first media break tied 13-13. Sharpshooter
Chris Ashby sparked the Royals early offense with three shots from downtown for nine early points.
-Coming out of the media break, the Demon Deacons ripped off a quick 11-0 run behind three triples, including a pair from Nate Calmese to force a Queens timeout as the lead was up to 11.
-Queens answered Wake Forest right back, sparking a 14-5 run, which was capped off by a
Jordan Watford backdoor cut layup to bring the deficit back down to two and force a Wake Forest timeout.
-Leading 37-33 with 5:05 remaining in the first half, Wake Forest strung together a 12-2 run capped off by a Myles Colvin transition dunk to extend the Demon Deacons lead back to 14.
-Coming out of halftime, the Demon Deacons took control of the game with a 15-3 start over the first four minutes of action to extend their lead to 30.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-The Demon Deacons 17-of-33 performance from deep marked the most threes by a Queens opponent since North Florida buried 16 on January 1, 2024.
-Wake Forest became the first team to reach the century mark against the Royals since No. 16 Duke took down the Royals 106-69 on December 30, 2023.

Chris Ashby brought him closer to Chris Benson's all-time school record set back in 2003. The sharpshooter sits 23 away from breaking the milestone.
